PT packer is a kind of slip packer with compressible heavy load. It is used to maintain the high pressure difference from one side of casing. There is a large bypass area under the rubber cylinder of this kind of packer, which reduces the suction effect of tools when they are running down the hole, and balances the pressure on both sides of packer before setting. The bypass is closed by a sealing valve.
